If you're a fan of home-cook style food preparation, Shallots, located at The Vantage,Jalan Tokong will probably be worth a try. There is absolutely no charm nor ambiance to talk about as of this restaurant, but, if food can be your primary objective and priority, then simply zero in onwhat emerges on the menu. Pictures of selected meals are pasted across the walls so that you can visualize what you may be contemplating on ordering. We chose: Seafood Maw soup; bean sprout and chives, fried with silver seafood; pork steak and minced pork braised tofu. These were all tasty, and we informed the owner-couple so. Both migrant waiters were readily available to assist. These were both earnest and useful and has a right to be thanked and recognised because of their cheerful service. We anticipate going back to use the additional dishes on the menu.

Our first selection for supper was closed thus we found Shallots looking for another thing in the region. The very first thing was a very hot welcome by the dog owner who was certainly proud of his eating place which he spruiked as an authentic home cookingeatery. We ordered Fried Rice (among my test meals for an excellent Chinese restaurant), Dual Flavor Kailan and Pork Steak Parts. Service was fast and friendly however the food was certainly, among the best we've got anyplace. This was Chinese house cooking done correct and obviously with interest. The owner's satisfaction was well deserved. Topped off by way of a Tiger and Coke and the sweet Sago within syrup it had been a perfect meal. Will we end up being back, definitely!

Dinner for just two 2. 1) Famous small pork steam ( dark pepper pork ) . Lovely ,Soft and tender juicy pork . 8 out of 10 rating . 2) 4 kings combo ( chili Pertai, , egg plant life, okras, French coffee beans with shrimps ) Malaysian styleBelacan fragrance , is great . 8 out of 10 rating 3) Deep Fried do-it-yourself Tofu with dried shrimps . We are very content with the meals we ate with great and very climate conditioned environments. The price is quite reasonable even yet in Penang food nation standard . We will be back more regularly

We booked a family supper for 11 pax at Shallots and was treated with honesty and regard by Lim whom I really believe is the proprietor. The meals quality and suggestion was superb and i will not hesitate in recommending this to anyone residing or visiting Penang.Essential try for sure. Many thanks Lim and Shallots to make the dinner an excellent experience.
