We enjoyed Zest for both dinner yesterday evening and breakfast today. We have been arriving at Malaysia for quite some time on a yearly basis which is the first-time we have managed to get to Melaka. A really amazing city and incredibly friendly peoplewhich leads me to Mr Hishamudin. Now obviously by the reviews that may be found here, he could be mentioned constantly and after meeting him at Breakfast today I am aware why. I was dining with my partner and son and incredibly keen to see Uncle after hearing so much about him and we weren't disappointed. A warmer and friendlier person you can not meet and it'll be considered a sad day for the hotel when he retires. Sometimes in the fast world of travel where we have been in one place 1 day and gone someplace else another, the individuals you meet on the journey could be forgotten and we are able to also have a tendency to forget that men and women like Mr Hishamudin in every their years of working, 29 years as of this hotel I believe are really historians in addition to workers and I was left feeling he will have forgotten a lot more than I'll ever learn in my own life. This is exactly what gentleman of his ilk bring. I know this isn't a traditional review in a few ways but we just wished to show our full respect for him and thank him for his personable and friendly manner. Cheers Sean

2 of my children members had diarrhoea. The meals had not been fresh and was substandard for the price that people paid. Service was good however the taste was so sub standard.

The buffet spread was handsomely presented. I liked the fried kueh teow probably the most. Kids also had their finger food and the meals was accessible. Thanks Zest Restaurant for constantly improving the grade of food, remembering the presentation aswell.

The restaurant was inside our hotel (Ramada Plaza) so we visited try it. Aside from one large dining hall, there are lots of little occasional rooms you can use for private parties. We wanted alcohol (only Tiger Beer), therefore were proven to oneof these. It had been ideal for privacy, but being from the primary restaurant, area, service was a little slow. The menu is comprehensive and features all of your favourites, however the presentation is great. They didn't have chilli crab, that i really wanted (however the seafood restaurant later on, serves a fantastic one). We had two forms of smoked duck, deep fried fish, eggplant claypot. all of the serves ended up being for just two people, so we'd too much. The meals was well cooked with some imaginative sauces. The primary restaurant gets very crowded, so book ahead. It cost us A$73 for the meals and A$10 for something charge.

Different smorgsbord evening meals, one Seafood based another night it had a global flavour. A lot of selections regardless of your taste. And they also do have an Ala Carte Menu aswell.

Went for Buffet Lunch on a friday afternoon and my review the following: 1) Appetiser - they will have a salad station, rojak buah station in addition to some sushi. 2) Main Meals - they will have indian, chinese, western and malay sections. - the selections aremainly meat and vegetables. Insufficient seafood especially prawn or squid. - dim sum selections were good (3 choices) - I thought the choice might have been better and more 3) Asam Pedas station - selection of ikan pari, ikan kembong or salmon head/fin. - may have just offered salmon fillet - asam pedas may have taste better and much more fragrant for me. 4) Passembur - it had been cold and the kuih udang was hard and lumpy. This need some improvement for me. 5) Soup & Noodle Soup - seafood chowder doesnt taste nice and too milky. - The noodle soup corner is ok nonetheless it was only fishball and vege. You will want to include some shreded chicken meat, fuchuk and wantan. In the end, that is Ramada - one of the better hotel in Melaka. 6) Desserts - this was most likely the highlight. Selections are good plus some of the kueh really tasted excellent. - ice cream tasted nice too 7) Beverages - included are water, teh tarik and coffee maker. - teh tarik is nice and fragrant - coffee maker is ok but why no cappucino? Overall, i believe their weekend Hi-Tea selections are better and much more affordability than their weekdays Buffet Lunch. It seems if you ask me the hotel is really a bit stingy - insufficient seafood. Not the very best buffet lunch for me and not so worthwhile especially at RM78 per person and there is absolutely no special rate for older persons.

Was here celebrating my birthday. Everything was good aside from the french onion soup which tasted very bland (had no onion taste). This time around no oyster and crabs. However, that easy garlic bread was my favourite since it was toasty and warm. Should come backagain should they improve on more selection of dishes. Overall one thumbs up
