We had lunch time here upon checking inside as didn't want to venture too much. We got a desk as walk-in visitors, and good thing as well because it ended up being the highlight dinner of our stay static in Melaka! The maitre'd well informed us thatit is normally packed out for supper, but lunches tended to end up being quieter, therefore it was, however the menu may be the same. We'd several curries of Kristang styling - the poultry curry, and the beef curry. We furthermore had the home baked sea-bass - that was tender, baked entire and sensitive with spicing. My own favourite had been the white-bait (seafood) fritters which was included with a spicy-sweet-sour sambal dipping sauce. We were 3 generations eating together (it really is child friendly) also it really does feel just like one is feeding on in the household ancestral house. Very strongly suggested!

Kristang food is uncommon and various from Peranakan foods. The food taste differs as evaluate to Portuguese too. Few restaurants serve Kristang meals. Thanks Jacqueline for getting us and to Jenitha for helping us.

Whilst residing at The Majestic we chosen dinner in the eating place, we had the present of a free of charge set meal within our package. Nevertheless, none of the options appealed so we chosen the Al la Carte menus, which includes all Nonyacuisine which we both wished to sample. However, we had been distinctly unmoved by the options we made, which might needless to say be just personal selection, but everything appeared to be predicated on either extremely solid tamarind sauce (that i generally love) or dark soy sauce, both which completely overpowered the respective meals. The support as everywhere at The Majestic was very and the meal had not been expensive in comparison to UK prices however, not totally enjoyable.

The Mansion may be the dining area also it supplies a warm atmosphere using its wooden floors and traditional furniture. The menus at The Majestic Malacca can be influenced by the wealthy multi-cultural heritage of the town and it mixes flavours from the Nyonya, Portuguese, Malay, Chineseand Indian cultures, alongside Kristang meals (Malacca-Portuguese cultural heritage). The recipes were developed by chef Melba Nunis and also if she will be no longer doing work for The Majestic Malacca, the chefs remain using her dishes in the kitchen. They're proudly presenting her quality recipes book to the visitors of the hotel. We enjoyed every meal at The Mansion and among our favourite meals were Soy limang terung - pan fried aubergine in soy and lime gravy and Kachang - wok fried French coffee beans with taukwa, carrots and egg. The desserts had been absolutely amazing. Our preferred had been Sagu Kung Sukri Malaka - sago pearls from glutinous rice soaked in coconut milk and melted palm glucose and Pulut kung kaya - glutinous rice with coconut milk tinted with bunga telang (glowing blue pea flower) with homemade coconut jam (kaya).

We'd what the restaurant acts best! Authentic Malacca-Portuguese meals, also understand as 'Kristang' cuisine. Basically yummiliciois. The ambience had been good, an excellent reflection of the comfy upcoming. And we enjoyed great service, specifically from Jennifer. She has been precised in recommending an excellent selection andportion dimension for our dégustation.
