Janet and Helen the proprietors/hosts/cooks are lovely and can put together an array of dishes to match you. We visited as a big team (4 tables) and all of the dishes had been consistently good. A special deal with in the Portugese Settlement precincy at Christmas-period are theChristmas lighting and carolers on the weekend break.

These folks ruined our Xmas eve supper. We were designed to await 1.5hrs for the food. We didn't make a fuss since it has been the eve of Xmas and the area was occupied but what place us off was these individuals wereunreasonably rude and arrogant. We were informed after 60mins that the chef can only just go "table by desk" and there have been 4 a lot more tables to end up being offered before us. I inquired should they could just assist us 3 dishes of basic rice and 1 basic vege dish therefore the children could begin eating 1st while we wait around but was extremely rudely informed off by the girl who runs the area that she cannot "disturb" her chef. We continued waiting around patiently and after 1.5 hrs we realised that the 4 tables before ours weren't offered yet and we made a decision to leave. I produced my solution to the cashier to cover the soft drinks we'd ordered previously and the person at the counter ,furthermore someone who runs the area, was unhappy that people were leaving. He kept to my 50 ringgit take note and refused to provide me my alter until we provided him a conclusion about why we had been leaving. We were after that told they only had 1 chef. Then i told them they should downsize rather than try to serve a lot more than 25 or 30 tables at a chance with simply 1 chef in your kitchen. The rude woman then came around us and rolled her eye and walked aside when she learnt that people were cancelling our purchase. This place deserves no rating or good reviews. A food company that treats their clients so badly shouldn't be supported at all.

The cooking style isn't Portuguese, but we however enjoyed the food. We had the drinking water spinach, fried rice and clams. We discovered that the spices overpowered the flavour of the clams and that people must have ordered them much less spicy. We sat in thecourtyard outdoors - the setting is easy but clean, and costs are very affordable. The staff speaks English.

We came here for supper on a saturday evening within a big band of several tables. The employees are friendly but there's only 1 cook so anticipate to wait for your meal. Time from achieving the location (we booked beforehand)till completing our food had been about 2.5hrs.

The Portuguese settlement is really a place like no other I am, but if one place embodies the familial, lighthearted and culinarily expert nature of the two 2,500 people residing there, it really is Monterios. We visited try the mystical Debal Curry (that you've to askfor) and we still left eight hours afterwards, supremely spoiled on spicy and flavourful Debal, wealthy and scrumptious dried out butter prawns, and garlic and butter scallops which were dropped on our desk straight from heaven. I'm not usually a scallop enthusiast. Fortunately a divine tone of voice in my own subconscious implored me to purchase them. I'm extremely grateful. Right after finishing our unparalleled meal we were fortunate to become listed on Janet and friends for a chat; so amazing the business we stayed for most more hours. I desire we'd possess stayed for most more. Many thanks Monterios for an extraordinary meal and an extraordinary evening!

We visit each time we head to Malacca. Funny sufficient the thing we skip the most wasn't the meals, but their mango fruit juice. Best never to go during yuletide season as it is a terrible wait. Besides that, it's great to chill.

I told my family concerning the supper area in the Portuguese Settlement and we made a decision to visit there for the Christmas Dinner. We'd wait for a little for them to get ready the desk for all of us. We than orderd Fried rice, Baked seafood, Squid Fritters,Kangkung belacan, Kailan, Poultry Debal Curry and beverages. We'd to wait a little, we asked them just how long would it try get our foods. The girl said "if we have been patient, we'd get nice food" right now i dont believe its an effective way to reply to your consumer. the Baked fish had not been very clean, tasted like mud. Squid Fritters had been okay and that has been the thing on the menus for kids, once we had 2 kids around.Kangkung belacan was regular too. Debal Curry poultry also had not been that excellent, they gave us a lot more potatoes and gravy rather than much poultry. We wanted some very hot drinks plus they said it has been unavailable at all that was quite disappointing. Today whenever we finished, we noticed that our Kailan in no way arrived. We needed the expenses and the boss emerged also to collect our cash, as we experienced the costs with him, we informed him we in no way obtained the Kailan, at that time he asked us "Would you like the Kailan now" ??? We'd finished our Supper what are we likely to perform with the Kailan, utter nonsense la. Once we were walking aside, clients came in and had been seated, the girl boss was asking aside to 1 of the waiters for warm beverages to be served, why they might get hot beverages and we couldnt obtain it. Quite unfair services. While consuming the baked fish, i acquired a bone that obtained stuck in my own throat and began coughing, my buddy in law instantly ran to the girl boss to require some rice, understanding quite well my circumstance, she took her very own sweet period to obtain the rice for me personally.....haizzzz dont desire to state about your service una. You are busy attempting to serve Portuguese meals, but have lost high quality of real portuguese foods.

I initial visited this restaurant right before the pandemic and was reasonably impressed with the meals. For those likely to Portuguese settlement, there are several touts looking to get one to patronise among those sea facing cafe. I didn’t just like the touting and soour band of 10 decided within my recommendation to use this eating place. Run by family and managed there for a long period, we were really impressed with the meals. The crab was excellent (though their chilli crab differs from what we had been utilized to in SG). Probably except one dish (little bit salty) everything has been perfect and our team agreed it had been our best dinner in Melaka). That is at this point on my go-to eateries in Melaka.

Excellent supper there yesterday. The devil's curry poultry was spicy but tasty. The otah got a rich earthy flavor with a hint of sourness that means it is most remarkable. The Portuguese baked seafood was fresh, however flavourful and affordable. The fried poultry wings wasa surprise, since it was properly marinated and was included with a bit of scorching and sourness that certain do not normally connected with fried chicken wings. The owners were also friendly and helpful in providing suggestions about what things to order, and got a member of family to operate a vehicle us home free of charge whenever we had difficulty finding transport.
