We have been to the restaurant several times, getting it a point to create friends who arrived at Melaka searching for good Portuguese foods. Many of these buddies have continuing patronising this cafe.My last check out was in April 2013.The meals prepared is trulyauthentic home cooked Portuguese food. On the list of dishes I really like and recommend are usually their Garlic Butter Scallops, Portuguese Baked Seafood, Curry leaf slipper lobsters, sambal sotong, kangkung belacan and ambila curry . Purchase one glass of their mango fruit juice to go with the meals and you may probably also contemplate returning for more of these food.

My family and I've tasted the seafood as of this restaurant and also have found the seafood, crabs and oysters to be extremely new. The cooking is performed well by way of a well-known chef known as Anthony who spent some time working overseas along with a few of the famoushotels in Melaka and somewhere else. Getting Portuguese he also offers perfected his native loved ones dishes. The restaurant serves great grills aswell - beef, lamb, etc....

Sorry to disagree with another reviews, but we can not provide 5 stars, at the very least not yet. Anthony's showed the possible to be 5 celebrities, nonetheless it isn't there right now. In fairness, we continued a Saturday night time and the employees was swamped. There have been several tables with big groups, but not all of the tables were taken. Suggestion #1 - appear before7 or, if you fail to, arrive after 9. We attained 7:30 and waited one hour, 15 minutes for the food. We'd six dishes... The very best had been the mussels in oyster sauce, the Portuguese poultry Devil, and the garlic butter prawns. For the mussels, the sauce is fairly unique...a normal oyster sauce with some unusual spices. The mussels had been large and meaty, and the dish had been a real champion. As has been the Portuguese chicken. This is prepared in a curry devil sauce...a tangy tomato sauce. The prawns had been large and clean. One complaint here's they were served final, and following the very spicy previous dishes, we really cannot flavor the garlic sauce that properly, however the prawns were nevertheless winners because of their size and lovely freshness. The curry leaf slipper lobsters were a disappointment. Very little meat plus they were a bit ignored. The salt and dark pepper fritters had been nothing special and a little rubbery. The nice potato leaves were great, but noting special. But talk about affordability! All of this, plus beers and several drinks for approximately S$60. Tip #2- they don't really take credit cards. The ambience isn't great, nonetheless it is really a happy, cheerful place and the wait staff went of their solution to make you feel welcome. Anthony works alone inside your kitchen and he makes supported. he needs another make on occupied nights. He also could be trying to perform too many dishes at this stage given his insufficient staff. Perhaps slicing the menu back again a bite old enhance the kitchen's efficiency. We would definitely keep coming back...the meals is that good. With just a little tweaking, he'll get our 5 superstars!

This restaurant possess best seafood cuisine with reasonable price! It's too ideal for me, who likes seafood. Especially I have to recommend you men try the CRABS, properly cooked and reasonable cost. The seafood price mainly derive from market price, I continued Aug2013, theprice for the crabs will be RM70/kg (around 3 crabs, not large one) For me personally this price is appropriate. I went supper on the very first day, and eliminate one even more KG back again to KL. :D I simply loves seafood soo very much, plus they serve it in high quality cooks. The Portuguese chef is usually amazing. :) Clean and fine boss. The one thing for this cafe to improve may be the decoration, atmosphere there could want some renovations. But also for the nice foods and reasnable cost, I believe this place is essential go eating place in Melaka.

Went with category of 7. Ordered curry devil, state bak, kang kung, scallops, mussels, okra and baked fish. The baked fish was abit dried out and tasteless. Not more than enough sambal gravy and inadequate onions as garnish. Scallops weren't meaty and pretty little insize. It had been very pungent, probabaly an excessive amount of garlic. Curry devil tasted great, not too spicy and poultry was lower not too tiny parts. Say bak was not the same as the nyonya design that im used to taking in at home. Would choose it with an increase of gravy. Kangkung belacan was wonderful. There were little shrimps like "gerago". It had been just nice...not as well salty or spicy. Chilli okra and mussels were alright. Nothing at all to shout about

Whenever we drop to Melaka, we ensure it is a point to go to Chef Anthony for the seafood. His seafood is definitely an ideal delight-- fresh, often simply pulled from the sea early in the day! (ie Happy fish- much better than the fifty percent deadspecimens in tanks which some eating place make reference to as "reside") A fishermen when he's got the time, Anthony helps it be a point to get immediate from his fishermen brother or buddies as well as fishes for them himself. After that his preparations - aiyayayay! He could be a wiz with both Western and Eastern cuissine. Yesterday evening we'd a yen for cincaru sumbat ( filled with sambal) also it was flawlessly authentically nyonya design! I also like his teochew steamed ikan batu ( a coral seafood) and his XXL prawns fried within an aromatic dried prawn & curry leaf combine. And his costs are so reasonable!
