The food was good. That was not the problem. But when you pay a crazy amount for a miniature portion, then at least the taste should be outstanding. Which it was not. Though my husband was more positive about it.

We visited just after their renovations and found a brand new walk-in wine cellar. Guests are invited to go for a tour and handpick a bottle before dining. Fine European food with some local ingredients. Nice view over the pool.

I can only report on this restaurant from the aspect of breakfast because we chose to eat in other venues in the evenings. However, quite frankly it is one of the best breakfasts you will ever have. Whilst I normally detest buffett offerings with apassion this was so well operated with all food items being replenished frequently rather than masses being left standing it really did not matter. There are also some lovely items to order in addition to the buffett selection. I cannot think of a better way to start the day than a table at the front overlooking the pool with the rainforest and Thai islands in the distance with a glass of champagne eating a lobster omelette finished off with an amazing selection of fruits and then a REALLY good coffee and I am afraid I gave in to the most delicious pastries I have ever encounteren in South East Asia, light, crisp puffy and gorgeous!

The service was impeccable, the staff genuinely courteous and engaging. And the food? Amazing! A lovely place to sit and enjoy the twilight descend :)

Skip this one and go to The Pavillion for amazing Thai food. This was overpriced and not good food. We were surprised because every other meal at the Datai was incredible.

The head waiter was excellent and helped us with choosing our wine from the in house wine celler. Food was excellent, more formal then the other resturants

This is the most formal of the restaurants at the Datai and they require men to wear collared shirts and proper shoes. The food is excellent and service superb.

The Dining Room was not open for dinners due to the RMCO but open for breakfast. The breakfast menu is extensive from very healthy to Malaysian breakfast of fried noodles. The wellness juices were superb and helps to set you up for the day .Also it is a quieter place to eat breakfast ........ not a child in sight!!!

An excellent selection of breakfast items, coffee, tea and beverages, and very attentive staff. The food was beautifully presented, and yummy! Lovely view of the pool.

So many choices for breakfast. I don't eat so many things but there is no issues with food for breakfast. Set Dinner was absolutely delicious!
