Much have been discussed the colorful Kek Lapis of Sarawak, so we took a sampan over the river to look at this highly acclaimed local Lapis shop. It really is located off the primary street with a brief walk from the jetty in a 2-storeyhouse. There are many forms of Kek Lapis here created from all type of ingradiant, either using butter or margarine. We tried a number of the samples including cheese, chocolate, masam manis, rempah, melon etc, but find many of them too sweet and dry; will be the samples have already been left in the container for a long time. We discover the Original (butter) type a little nearer to our preferred taste. Should you choose buying any keep it refrigerated so when you are prepared to eat it cut into 5mm thin slices, warm-up in microwave briefly for approximately 20 sec to soften it.

we visited this shop upon recommendation from my pal. plenty of kek lapis at reasonable price. remember that they are able to packed it in a box so that it will be possible for one to check it in the flight. so you don't need to worry abouthow to transport it back home.

Specially took a cab from the waterfront area ahead here (didn't know we're able to take the sampan). Plenty of variety and sampling for you yourself to choose from. Some were nice, some were ok. Bought back the kopi kek lapis cause it had been quiteflavorful. Would've bought more maybe if my backpack had more space. Uncertain how these keks compare to those selling across the streets, however the prices tend to be more or less exactly the same anyways.

We rented an automobile to get around, so that it made the journey easier. Else, have a cab, or the water taxi over the river, or cross the pedestrian bridge and an extended walk. Go for the initial, another flavoured ones are significantly cheaper, butnot nearly as good. Depending on just how many you purchase, these could be packed into boxes so it is simpler to transport home.

Stall is situated opposite the Hilton. Quick access by ferry from the boardwalk. Kek lapis will come in many kinds and flavours. Yummy and affordable. Not too sweet. Vendors are ready to pack lapis in boxes for easy sign in for overseas visitors. Great placefor souvenirs and snacks. 👍
