Anyone here ever really tried Sarawak’s ‘Lui Cha’? 🌿🌱☘️🍀 It’s the meanest, greenest concoction of herbs blended right into a soup that’s deemed as a potion for rejuvenation for the Hakka neighborhood. Served as well as Sarawak reddish colored rice, it packs a punch. Believe me, Sarawak’s edition ofthis dish can be an entire various world in comparison with West Malaysia; I’ve attempted Johor and KL’s edition, nothing can defeat the power and bitterness of Sarawak’s Lui Cha. It is thus indescribably bitter - when I initial came to Kuching, to be able to make an impression on Michelle Goh Vivian’s moms and dads, somewhat like passing of rite I dived into Lui Cha. At my very first bite, I quietly exclaimed to Michelle, “Hey, I believe it’s spoilt,” hoping never to capture her parent’s eyes. It had been incredulously bitter. She laughed at me and mentioned it tastes flawlessly fine! With perseverance and several trials of the dish, I’ve now arrived at love it also it is undoubtedly a will need to have whenever I get back to Kuching. I am furthermore married to Michelle today hehe. This Lui Cha stall in Huo Min Cafe is really a family favourite - serving possibly the largest part of greens for exactly the same price as other stalls. For individuals who desire to look younger, most of the locals right here swear by this dish. 😃 - with Michelle Goh Vivian and 2 others at Huo Min Cafe (和民园).
