Something different from your usual dim sum, the dumpling with spicy sauce is part of TimHoWan's new range of mouth-watering promotional menu. The special spicy black vinegar sauce does wonders to an already delicious juicy meat dumpling. It's spicy enough to tingle your taste buds, but not too spicy that it'll burn your tongue. Perfect.

True foodies will have certainly heard of Tim Ho Wan, more famously known as the World’s Cheapest Michelin Starred Restaurant. The original restaurant is based in Hong Kong but there are now multiple outlets scattered all throughout SE Asia, with the newest being opened recently in Australia (Sydney of course, lucky them). I knew there was a franchise located in Kuala Lumpur, and so we made a special trip there to eat whilst holidaying in the city.

The KL outpost doesn't match the standards set by the HK branches. At the price points, you'll be better off dining at other Chinese establishments for good dim sum. Perhaps the only item worth sampling is the baked bun with bbq pork.

Special for its 4 dishes in which I didn't order in my visit. However, I did have the pork ribs, liver Cheong fun and the hargao ofc. Nothing exceptional. One might say overrated. Also, tried the new dish which I will just cal it Yong tau Foo. The sauce was surprising good. I might even recommend to give it a humble try. However, I say come here for the 4 dishes. For everything else, it is almost better else where.

Having been to the original store in Hong Kong, this one failed in comparison. While the wasabi salad prawn dumplings, prawn dumplings and spinach dumpling with shrimp dishes were nice, the beef and pork dishes were pretty much inedible.
