We tried 3 of the floating dining places at Kuala Tahan. Every one of them managed on the basic principle that you purchase and pay out at a counter and all experienced a variety of Malay and Western meals and usually Thai aswell. We enjoyed consuming on theriver and believed all restaurants provided a comparable level of service. We'd breakfast around 9am at the Mawar Floating Eating place. We were a little dissatisfied that the nasi lemak advertised on the whiteboard menu out top wasn't available. We finished up buying pineapple pancakes instead and the ones were good, sizzling and protected in pineapple parts. The juices were extremely fresh too.

Food this is actually the most expensive among all of the nearby eating place although tasted OK. Pineapple fried rice - RM17 Nasi goreng kampung - RM12 Beef noodle - RM15 Lime water - RM10 Sambal - RM2 (they charge for sambal!) Price over is more costly thanKL. It's only a normal malay store. You have already been warned!
