The food offering here's very easy: a 150g or 200g tenderloin steak with fries and salad. There exists a Cafe de Paris design butter sauce for the beef and a vintage French vinaigrette for the salad. House crimson was Argentinian and incredibly drinkable. Cuissanceof the meats was even more French than British/United states, with medium uncommon coming similar to “a spot” and I will suggest going one cooking degree up for all those used to United states descriptions of how meats ought to be cooked (ie purchase “medium” if you would like “medium rare” as you'll get it in america or UK). After nearly 3 weeks in Penang on business I was in dire needed of an excellent “western” little bit of meat, and the nice review articles brought me here. The restaurant title says everything - menu contains 2 sizes of Aussie steak, period, including asmall salad and fries/chips/frites. The steak was cooked medium-uncommon, as ordered, and topped with a sublime herb butter sauce. The good part of frites were sizzling and properly cooked. Added a 20 Ringgit, surprisingly decent cup of burgandy or merlot wine and I has been delighted. My just complaint had been I wished I experienced found it sooner. Well done.

The area was closed when I arrived, however the friendly Supervisor named Tina opened back again for me and my pal to dine in! Exceptional service is rare. The steaks just had 2 sizes (150g & 200g) 150g for a satisfying meal, 200g for an awesomeDinner!! The deco had been Classic Traditional Chinese set up. My just wish is people in fact search for REAL food instead of Fast Food. Oh, they will have a Guesthouse as well! You will regret departing Penang without going to this place!!

Steak Frites is excellent and I have turn into a habitual customer since i have moved to Penang. The idea is easy and the menu just acts steak, which are constantly prepared to perfection. The atmosphere of the old store house can be excellent. The only real slightdisappointment will be that the chips certainly are a small bland but it is really a minor quibble. Really worth a visit.

A plain salad, the steak, and french fries. Salad is... salad Steak is okay but nothing at all exceptional... and be sure you request their special sauce privately, it is good however, not to everyone’s taste. Fries are okay, frozen fries. Wine listing is quitepoor, and program is quite average (food court kind). It is ok, however they have A single dish to create so you might expect them to nail it, they don’t, hence the two 2 stars. Should come back again after locked right down to reassess.

I heard about a cafe in Penang that had attemptedto replicate the well-known Steak et Frites of Le Relais de L'entrecôte in Paris. Complete marks for the try. Not for the execution. No hand-cut, double-fried fries right here. And the steak itself can be probablymore helpful in a rendang than on a grill. And there's that key sauce everyone has been attempting to replicate. Quite remote the mark but relatively accurate with a number of the core ingredients. Le Relais de L'entrecôte guards the recipe because of their key sauce like it's their final cannister of oxygen inside a Covid-filled ward of ventilators. For those who have had Steak et Frites at Le Relais de L'entrecôte in Paris, you should attempt this if you are in Penang. There's a little nostalgia in all of the for me. Happy I came right here but won't do it again the visit.
