On January 5, we dined at Malaya following a friend told us of these new menu . Whenever we had been there formerly as Hutton Grill, it had been very different rather than special. The encounter is very much on the other hand with Kabaya (another best restaurantrun by exactly the same people), even more intimate and less official with many unusual cooking innovations predicated on traditional Malaysian cooking. We had been greeted warmly the moment we entered the resort where Malaya is situated. The dining area was small and comfy despite our becoming the only real guests there that night. The menu using its many selections was an experience with so numerous inventive dishes. It is out of the question to remember all that people ate but we were particularly impressed by the smoked crimson snapper and all of the various condiments about the charcuterie platter including mulberry jam served with hot grilled naan fingertips. (I really must have taken information). Our main programs had been the marinated grilled iron steak and the darkish spiced duck curry. While both were tasty the duck curry has been the obvious winner, duck legs lengthy simmered in a complicated rich darkish sauce with several layers of spice. Our "sides" required lots of deliberation credited to selection of inviting options. We finally chosen the potato fries (sharp unlike the pale insipid mushy points served somewhere else), beetroot acar, baked cauliflower, and salt seafood pickle. I doubt we're able to have gone wrong incorrect irrespective what we chose. In retrospect we'd have loved some lighter options for dessert because the Limaulicious (spiked lime pudding with new goat's milk ice lotion) and Hutton Mess (coconut cream, enthusiasm fruit gelee, compressed spiced mango, lime meringue and marshmallows) were both mind-boggling in their attractiveness to our over childhood nice tooths. We nonetheless survived the guilt journey. The new wine listing was also very much improved. We find the Fleurie which proceeded to go well with the complex tastes of the meal. We felt only somewhat guilty once we contemplated sheer amount of ingredients included to generate such complex meals and enough time, care, and effort that has to have gone in to the planning of our meal. Just "slightly" because we have been already contemplating our come back visit, hopefully with buddies who like us worth this type of interesting, unusual, and wonderful dining adventure.

This was a good change from the most common street eateries. The support was excellent. The menu is fairly limited but a lot of choice. The meals was good specifically the Hutton Mess pudding (their edition of Eton Mess) Took a whilst to find like itwas further away compared to advertised from our hotel.
