I have been eating and lunching as of this restaurant because the early 1960s. The Inchi-kabin (spice fried poultry) and fried springtime rolls never disappoint. the fried bee-hoon is crucial try. The purchase price is reasonable and affordability. However, it is definately not townbut Rapid Organization bus may take you there.

This is a vintage restaurant run by Hainanese family , hence some dishes are of Hainanese style cooking. My father-in-law dined as of this restaurant many times in the 60’s when he was within Penang for company. We first proceeded to go there as a family group in 2008.Back after that , the restaurant was somewhat shady , but food has been good and owner who's the grand-niece of the initial owner , is quite friendly. We went there once again few days back because a family and all of the fond memory was back again. Father-in-legislation ordered the same kind of dishes he ate within the 60’s and in 2008 - it is possible to imganine the way the menu remain exact same after 50+ years ! But some dishes have to pre-order right now , eg. “Duck prepared with yam”, “Stuffed crab shell with meat” “Baked chicken pie” - you can wonder pie within a chinese restaurant? Nicely , that is Hainanese inspired western cooking food . The area looks more bright in comparison to 10 yrs back - probably with new coat of paint and new table cloths. It ‘s dealing with the sea , in the event that you go early , it is possible to enjoy the ocean breeze and the good view. We like the darkish soy sauce prawn and the large spring rolls , steam seafood is nicely cooked , and the dog owner is nice sufficient to provide us “Potatoes Leaves” - simply leaves only minus the stalks. Lamb with some spicy sauce with woman fingers as part dish. Kapitan chicken is merely ok , not spicy sufficient in comparison to other nyonya restaurants. My cousin came here during extremely peak time period during Ramadan vacations and she complaint about poor service and bland flavor of food. I assume it’s better to arrived at this type of family run cafe during off peak time of year as they nevertheless couldn’t manage with the huge crowd. Overall we such as this place. We shall definitely come again , not merely for food also for the memory.

It was of low quality, nor bad! This location seem to have dropped its previous glory, it was previously very good in accordance with friends that understand it for a long period, but now it really is just OK. They might also execute a bit moreof an attempt to update the area a little to the newer requirements. Food ok, service unusual, understanding of english very little.

I visited this place since i have was a child and its been with us since 1945. It was previously fully loaded. I visited on a Saturday, only 3 tables. We purchased shark fin with crab (5/5), tang hoon soup (3/5) - the soup has been notboiled long sufficient, teow chew steam seafood (2/5), assam prawn (2/5), poh pneah (5/5). I requested for extra sambal and lea and perrins sauce. The uncle had been reluctant to provide and said it had been more than sufficient. There were 3 folks and he just gave one normal size bowl. i dont start to see the need to tell client off for additional plate of sambal and sauce. greatest time to go to the place is throughout the day or 6 plus. you can observe the floating mosque beside and its own just by the ocean. as for now, we dont think its really worth going but i really do hope they are able to improve.

Sterling service supplied by the supervisor and staff. Permit them to recommend dishes - in no way disappointing. Signature dishes will be the Crab-meat springtime roll and the 'Roti Babi' - awesome and tasty. Spring-rolls are Filled up with crabmeat - scrumptious till the final bite - a bucket-listdish Do furthermore try their Mac pc & Cheese, and Cheese-baked Lobster, too - however, you will have to book within an advance for all those dishes (perhaps a couple of times in advance) Another hard-to-forget dish: steamed crab upon egg white Initially, the restaurant looks early - it's established through the 1920s. Usually silent, suggest you have a table nearer to the seaside - gives you the eating with a watch experience Quality of food - sterling Affordability - excellent Forgive the initial impressions of the eating place - the hidden gems will be the FOOD!

Ordered Hainan Mix Fried Chilly Prawn, steamed egg along with clam, lovely and sour poultry, vege and crab meats spring roll. Out from the 5 meals, the crab meat springtime roll is really a bit disappointing however the rest are good. The coconut was good too andnot forgetting the ocean view. Will certainly come once again. Thumbs up.

Weekend is a great food hunting day. Discovered this concealed gem in Tanjung Tokong. All great food; from Crab springtime rolls etc to Chilli Crab. Farm to desk vegetables or fresh seafood from nearby fishermen (boats recreation area at the seaside there). Love the look at andthe breeze whilst having lunch. Fast serving, helpful and pleasant staff and proprietor, Mr Tan. Parking region comes in front or beach part of the resto. Suggested seafood resto!
