Don't come right here expecting the boring "peranakan staples" of ayam buah keluak or Nonya chap chye. Instead, everything you get are meals that are exclusive to the chef's very own familyheritage or older favourites which have been thoughtfully recrafted and refined. Every dish that has been served was basically mind-blowing with layers upon layers of flavour, a lot more when the chef teases the palate by encouraging us to set dishes with different homemade condiments. Furthermore with each dish emerged a story concerning the dish, it's elements and its own origins or some fascinating tidbit about the background of the Nonyas and Babas. This is not really a meal, it had been a sensorial expertise that begged to become appreciated at a relaxed pace. No review articles of dishes cos every dish is intended to surprise and every experience is intended to be distinctive to all or any who come. I could only anticipate my next stop by at the house of Baba Jerry and his household with joyful anticipation no anticipations of whatever awaits.

    Jerry, the chef is indeed passionate about his Peranakan heritage you could feel this in the meals he prepared for all of us tonight. It was not only the food however the whole dining knowledge where he taught us how each dish ought to be enjoyedand the origins of his lifestyle.     What a fantastic evening it ended up being! The meals, the laughter and the heat of the complete private dining encounter was special alone. Jerry and Su Pei had been exceptional hosts who prepared the best possible of Peranakan food we've actually had.From the very first course to the dessert, it just improved and better and better. It is hard to choose that was our favourite dish simply because all were excellent. What managed to get better was the purchase in which it had been served, AND the reason of how far better eat it - how exactly to pass on the belacan, using the ketupat in 3 various ways etc etc. The family recipes which were used made the laundry distinct rather than your usual fare. The 8-course Omakase-style dinner got generous portions. There is selection of meat - chicken, seafood -, seafood - seafood and prawns - and vegetables - eggplant, lady’s fingertips and green vegetables, all gravy filled up with various kinds of curries. Individually, I cherished the Assam curry specifically which paired completely with the seafood and lady’s fingers. A wonderful okay and a must-go during Penang. Started the supper as visitors, ended it as close friends.

    This is actually the most wonderful fine dine I had up to now!! Kudos! These Hokkien Nyonya dishes are simply mouth watering tasty! Chef Baba Jerry will describe each meals history n using spices. You should try it out!!!
