In the website paradise that's Penang this spot is really a dud. We had been excited that it got just rebranded and we'd be one of the primary reviewers. Look within my past reviews - I'm always fair and present the 'benefit of the doubt'when composing. But every occasionally your experience is usually sooo underwhelming it cannot proceed with out a poor note. The meals was horrible. My seafood of the seafood and chips entree acquired a covering that could only be referred to as odd in flavor and consistency and the fillet has been gray and slimy having an off smell. The salad was just lettuce, onion, and tomato and sparse uninspired vinaigrette, nothing special. My companion had the poultry goreng kind dish (I forgot the menus designation), which had exactly the same weird covering on some undercooked poultry legs (now there is a tourists recipe for gastric disaster). The others of her dish had been standard local fare that was alright - but grossly overpriced for Penang. Obviously she didn't end her food and I didn't assist. I usually hesitate to confront the server or supervisor as I don't want to re-eat foods I repaid to a kitchen. In addition to the server really was clueless in the work of serving. Conversation would likewise have been a concern - I don't talk any Malay dialect which is on me. I am aware that some local employees aren't experienced in the artwork of dining places, but this server has been confused and uncertain, despite having things such as providing utensils after providing food. I only point out this as it's evident that on Like Lane the principal client is international tourist and the personnel and food ought to be some affordable facsimile of western design if you need to attract clients who return. (Rather than write poor testimonials...). I could imagine that here, much like various other Love Lane 'dining places', the owners depend on the mainly partied out drinkers with much less discerning palettes as customers. I cannot recommend this establishment - low quality food, relative higher cost, and clueless, (but, nicely, friendly in all honesty) staff, and a huge amount of excellent dining options in Penang to be produced nearby. Sorry Garage 56 you missed the tag.
