Skipped the buffet breakfast in the hotel because of this. The 20moment journey was really worth it. Ordered a bowl and dug directly into it. The very clear broth was delicious and satisfying. Helping was of an excellent size and ingredients clean. The establishment although simple, wasclean. Will come back!! No buffet breakfasts whilst in Penang!!

I've always attempted the duck koay teow soup, but determined this time that I'd have got the duck porridge. The regularity of the porridge isn't like congee, but similar to rice boiled in drinking water for a slighty much longer period. Duck gravy was additional tothe soup for flavour and the strips of duck meats were tender and delicious. It was a fantastic bowl for a cool and wet morning.

Situated in its shop, this spot specialises in duck meats everything - koay teow soup, koay chap, rice and porridge. We just attempted the koay teow soup and koay chap, and both had been very good - even though koay teow soup way more. Infact, it’s the very best dish we'd in Penang! The soup can be lighting but flavourful, and the rice noodles gentle and fluffy. The duck has been a mix of meats and innards, plus they furthermore throw in several fishballs, and everything had been tender. Also the kopi (espresso) was great. It isn’t aswell referred to as the Pitt Road koay teow soup location steps away, and perhaps because it’s situated in a lane off the primary road, it wasn’t as difficult to acquire a seat either.

I'd state upfront I'm more a enthusiast of roasted duck, getting been schooled in (mainly) Cantonese foods but I'd state this basic, hearty Penang breakfast blew me apart! In a nonscript (and heavily advertised - also the stools have stickers of a particular chicken ricestall) corner shop only identified by its hanging sign panel Satu Satu Tigga (or One One three in Malay), that is an incredible find. The duck meats plus offals are usually sliced thin, merely to provide you with the bite however, not overweight for breakfast; the koay teow is definitely cooked a bit more than al dante (since it ought to be) and offered in an obvious broth. The very clear broth packs oomph and lacks the gaminess of all duck dishes. we were prematurily . for his or her koay chap but that didn't halt us from ordering an extremely generous (designed for two, he guaranteed me!) part of braised tummy pork and huge intestines. If you want the belly pork meats firm, yet in a position to extract the level(s) of extra fat from the skin, that is right location for you personally..... shhhhhh....don't provide this rare gem away. P.S., if you want tea, give this location a skip and purchase tea in the store further down exactly the same lane. I cannot remember the store but there's an unmistakable row of high-supported booths lining the wall structure.
