Da Ban gives atypical Chinese fare in Georgetown which location is rightfully known because of its excellent Fukian, Tamil, and Malay food items and fusions. Da Ban will be atypical by offering outstanding Chinese foods more common of mainland China, like ginseng poultry ready in soup, duck tongue, and steamed seafood in red and natural chilis, but still somehow "Penangese". To your surprise the chef had not been from mainland China but locally developed. On narrow and brief Jalan Zainal Abidin between Burmah Street and Jalan Macalister, Da Ban is smallish with about 6 or 7 tables each seating 6 or 7, having an interior in the same way interesting because the food; several steps at night doorway one must cross an arched bridge inside, and by way of a conventional portico, with the primary dining region raised on the remaining. Open up from 6 pm to 4 am (there are some "clubs" in your community) Da Ban frequently has some fascinating diners as well. All in all an excellent place to check out, you will not be disappointed either inside the food or the area, and a generous dinner for four will work near US$100.00. The meals is excellent, and when you're moved for a few good eating that's atypical of great eating in Georgetown after that do attempt Da Ban.

We were searching for some authentic, mainland design Chinese food. I go through that Da Ban provided up Sichuan meals and came searching for that. It did, type of, but nonetheless with a Malaysian spin to it. The meals wasn't poor at all, but Iwas searching for actual kung pao poultry, etc., also it just wasn't that can compare with what I'd experienced in China. The server has been extremely friendly and services was great. Costs were reasonable, not almost as high because the other review indicated.

Chinese food inside Penang has evolved right into a unique cuisine through the influences of Malay and Indian cuisines and also by nearby produce and seasonings, in fact it is arguably and popularly conceded as first-price as evidenced by the foodies both regional and worldwide whocome for that unique taste. But Da Ban, running a business for thirteen many years right now, was begun by way of a mainland Chinese woman pining for the flavor of her house in Shunde, Canton (广东顺德),and she succeeds. For anybody in Penang however now searching for that taste head to Da Ban Chinese Restaurant (大班中国餐厅), specifically for the fish.
