We arrived for brunch prior to the crazy lunchtime crowd & also about a regular weekday, which means wait was bearable & significantly less than 15mins. I reckon the product quality improves with the slower speed, and thus an extremely suggested yummy char koay teow, that wasserved with 2 huge prawns @ RM9

Hands down the very best meal we'd in Penang and most likely the best for the entire 2 7 days Southeast Asia vacation. The noodles were completely tender and the sauce had been a sublime mixture of tang and spice. We'd this one vegetarian, however the standardshrimp/meats toppings looked delicious. That is mandatory visit stall for anybody (we have been from NEW YORK, but actually anyone) visiting Penang.

This CKT stall serves delicious and filled with wok hei koay teow. It really is much pricier compared to the typical CKT on the island but functions large prawns to justify the purchase price. Ask for the particular - CKT with duck egg for additional kick. There arealso add-ons like mantis prawns. Anticipate to wait as this location is loaded during festive periods and school holidays.

We’ve tried many char koay teow inside Penang from multiple journeys and this time an excellent friend of mine suggested this location, truly great! We arrived 12:15 on a Sunday, not just a normal Sunday but Deepavali time as well, very busy but we’ve got atable for just two. While waiting around we’ve ordered traditional snack, kuchai kuay, that is chive dumpling... excellent as well. After 45 mins we were served 1 special extra spicy and 1 regular... so amazing, I attempted both but needless to say I like warm and spicy, so that it was ideal plate for me personally, shrimps were clean and perfectly cooked, alongside therefore crunchy cockles, and properly ‘charred’ kuoay teow from the magical wok, by way of a true expert.... you’ll need to try it you to ultimately understand. Strongly recommended!

We heard advantages of Ah Leng, thus we made the 20+ moment trek from our resort near Komtar to use it. It was alright. We thought it required much more wok taste to it. We’ve attempted some other areas for CKT in Penangand Ah Leng has been about common. If you’re in your community, it’s fine to look at. But when you have to traveling to make it happen, it’s not worthwhile.

Caution: Once you have eaten the CKT with Ah Leng's (and when you hail from KL/PJ), you may never look elsewhere. Stall is defined in an average Penang kopitiam (coffeeshop). The wait during peak hrs can be challenging. However, all worthwhile. Individually recommend the "duck eggCKT with additional ingredients" - Oodles of toned noodles with a lot of gigantic prawns, and mantis prawns, all infused with clean duck egg. The Real McCoy
