Restoran Kolam Ikan is obviously among the underdogs in the meals scene inside Bukit Tinggi which has grown away of proportion in the last couple of years. Mostly opportunistic development due to spillover company from the commercialized Genting Highlands and Colmar Tropicale. Therestaurant includes a simple, relaxed & relaxing environment and will be enveloped by greenery & a guy made fish pond. Almost entirely made of wood, age the structures increase to its rustic charm. No considerable decoration or design, simply directly homely & relaxed. The food won't earn any awards but isn't bad either. We nevertheless prefer this cafe to the others in the area since it is minimum commercialized and not often crowded. We ordered the dry out curry crazy boar, cabbage fried with shallots, Hokkien noodle & community clams boiled in first-class broth. All meals were above average however, not the very best in its course. Probably the most enjoyable thing concerning this restaurant is the calming ambience, spaced out seating & not really being over crowded.

Experienced our late lunch time there today .. ordered 6 items (for six individuals) - the claypot dark talapia was distinctive and tasty (their signature dish), the Nyonya squid has been amazing ~ I really like their Nyonya sauce, the Marmite Poultry had been crispy and tasted tasty, thehot plate tofu has been average - nothing at all to shout about, the nice and sour pork had been a little below regular (although it will be one of the best dish) and we'd vegetable (that i am not as well fond off). Overall, I'd say easily am in that section of town, I may stop in for meals again - specifically the Claypot Dark Talapia, Nyonya Squid and Marmite Poultry.

The restaurant recently relocated to another lot. Forget about great atmosphere that i love. Forget about Kolam Ikan. Right now it's only a normal restaurant offering normal food with regular price. They ought to change the title to Bukan Restoran Kolam Ikan.

It’s hidden gem inside Genting Sempah/Bukit Tinggi region. The restaurant is somewhat off the busy road with the mainstream stalls and dining places. Been there often with hubby. Both of us love the claypot seafood a whole lot. Watercress with garlic is merely simple and nice.
