A good breakfast is the key to having a fantastic day ahead! Nasi Lemak has been a favourite Malaysian breakfast dish for as long as anyone can remember. Nasi Lemak Mak Long is a well-known breakfast spot in a food court at Sungai Merab, Kajang. Luckily, team YummyAdvisor got there just in time before people started lining up to get themselves their breakfast.
Apart from Nasi Lemak, they have an extensive choice of side dishes to go with your nasi lemak! Eggs, fish, squid, you name it, and it’s there! Sight for a sore eye if you ask us!
According to their staff, Soto is also a best-selling dish in their store, besides their Nasi Lemak. So, we decided to get some nasi lemak, their Soto and threw some keria into the mix. Soto is basically a traditional Indonesian soup and is mainly made of broth, meat, and veggies, while keria is a sweet potato-based deep-fried doughnut which is coated with a layer of brown sugar.
We began our breakfast with their Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng Berempah with squid sambal. It was delicious and satisfying, to say the least! It was served with sambal, fried chicken, squid sambal, boiled egg, cucumbers, crispy fried anchovies, and toasted peanuts. Their nasi lemak sambal was spicy and engaging to your taste buds. On the other hand, the squid sambal was a little sweet and not nearly as spicy as the original nasi lemak sambal. The squid also was really fresh and chewy, while the chicken was fried to crisp perfection. The chicken meat was soft and tender and filled with spices.
Moving on to their Soto, it had a rich, creamy taste with a spicy hit. We absolutely enjoyed the Soto. Tasting it immediately brought me back to the days I visited my friend’s Hari Raya open house celebrations. The Soto is served with nasi impit, toasted peanuts, bean sprouts, tauhu bergedil and veggies.
For dessert, we had their Keria. It was crunchy on the surface and really soft on the inside. The brown sugar coating on the top was pleasingly sweet. It was delicious. It is a must-try when visiting Nasi Lemak Mak Long. Trust us!
Concluding it all, Nasi Lemak Kak Long is the perfect place to visit if you want an excellent breakfast to start your day. Even this review was powered by a good breakfast at Nasi Lemak Kak Long! If you want to avoid queueing up to make your orders, get there before peak hours. If you cannot make it during off-peak hours, you can always opt-out by ordering via GrabFood or foodpanda.
