The feast is served~
Some days you just need really good food to boost your day, and you know what they say; happy tummy, happy life. That’s why our team from YummyAdvisor would like to recommend that you try out Do Eat With Us, located at Kota Damansara; with an MRT station nearby to ease your troubles commuting here.
With beautiful murals painted on the wall, warm lighting to brighten the room, and an ample table for you to choose your preferred seating, you will definitely feel comfortable and cosy dining here.Looking through the menu, there’s definitely a variety of food you could try out, ranging from Malay cuisines to some pasta delicacies. Yesterday, our team was blessed with two tables filled with food; you can guarantee that we went home with stuffed stomachs. Let’s check them out one by one.
Lemon Lime (RM8)
Firstly, we were served lemon lime by the key person of the restaurant. On the outside, it might look like a plain iced lemon tea, but once you have a sip of it, your whole body will feel refreshed inside and out. The first sip might shock you though, as you will definitely taste the sour lime first. But once you swallow it down, you will start to taste a little bit of sweetness to it; definitely a good drink to have to wash away the sun’s scorching heat.
Matcha (RM10)
Next up was a cup of hot matcha served with beautiful, heart-shaped latte art on top. It was so pretty we were carefully moving it around so as not to ruin the art. But that’s beside the point. With the first sip, you’ll notice that the drink was prepared with heavy froth, making it creamy and thick. As the beverage goes down the throat, you can taste its sweetness without any bitter feeling that matcha drinks usually give.
Kopi Kampung (RM4)
One of the cheapest ones on the list is a black coffee drink named Kopi Kampung by the restaurant's owners. Recommended by the owner of the restaurant, the team and I were intrigued to try this cup of coffee. With a slurp of the coffee, the team found that it was very bitter and strong. But maybe we judged it too fast because, after a few seconds, we grew fond of the aftertaste. But don’t worry if it’s too bitter for your preference, as the drink was served with two sachets of sugar, and if that’s not enough, you could always ask for more.
Nasi Lemak Daging Rendang (RM13)
Nasi Lemak, the dish that has made a home in every Malaysian’s heart. However, this one is not the typical, everyday nasi lemak that you eat for breakfast. This restaurant’s version of nasi lemak is served with rendang daging, a dish that’s usually found when Eid’s in season. The meat is well cooked as it tastes juicy and soft when you chew it, alongside its sweet gravy and the sambal that comes with it (don’t worry, it’s not that spicy!); you’ll understand why it’s a famous dish among their customers.
Thai Green Curry Set with Garlic Oyster Pak Choy (RM13)
Pak Choy lovers can gather around here as this dish was a fantastic experience for us. The texture of the Thai green curry is light and not too creamy, perfect to be mixed with the rice that comes with the dish. This dish has a particular soft spot in our hearts as we love the subtle sour yet aromatic taste of the Thai green curry. Even the chicken served together with the curry is super soft and juicy, leaving us wanting more. For those who are not a fan of vegetables, this dish will make you fall in love with pak choy as it tastes fresh, and the strong garlic oil that accompanies it compliments the pak choy well.
Kacang Pool (RM10)
Kacang Pool is one of the dishes that we were particularly curious about as some of us have never heard of or even know of its existence. Even the name piqued our curiosity, wondering what the dish would look like. Surprisingly, it came in two bowls, one consist of two thick, nicely toasted slices of bread, and another containing laksa-textured gravy, with one fried egg, sliced onions and green chillies. The taste of the combination of the bread and the gravy is surprisingly well; however, we would not say that this is our favourite.
Chicken Mustaza (RM20)
Now, this dish, in particular, is something that most of our team have never heard of. It sounded so unique, we just had to taste it. And so, our curiosity was fed when the waitress served us a spaghetti carbonara with sliced chicken all around it and decorated with fried mushrooms on top. The smell of the chicken mustaza immediately got our mouths watering, and when we finally had our first bite of it, there was no question about which dish was our favourite. The fried mushroom was so soft it immediately dissipated in our mouths, leaving us with a well-balanced savoury taste. Aside from that, the sliced chicken was plump.
Mee Kari (RM10)
Last but not least is the mee kari, a favourite amongst the restaurant’s customers as well. Contains all of the goodness that a traditional mee kari would have such as bean sprouts, tofu, fishball, and sliced chicken. Serves with sambal in a separate bowl, this lets you control the amount of sambal you put in your mee kari. But fret not! Our team poured the whole sambal into the mee kari and loved it! Definitely spicy-friendly for those who have a low tolerance for spicy dishes.
All in all, we’d rate this restaurant with 8.5/10 as it would definitely feed your starving stomach well.
